    Höhenverbreitung: - 2100 m

    Lebenszyklus: Einbrütig. Partielle 2. Generation im September (z.B. Wallis). Die Raupe überwintert.

    Habitat: Mesophile Art offener Habitate: Trockene oder feuchte Wiesen und Waldstellen, Halbtrockenrasen, Gärten, Weinberge, Hochwasserdämme.

    Biologie: Falter tag- und naachtaktiv, gern am Licht. Raupe oligophag an Fabaceae, nachtaktiv, tagsüber versteckt.

    896. limitata Sc. (= mensuraria Schiff.) — Sp. III, T 65 — B. R. T 41. Kommt in weitester Verbreitung durch das ganze Gebiet vor und ist überall sehr gemein. Der Falter fliegt bes. gerne auf feuchten Wiesen und Waldstellen im Juli—August; er geht am Albula bis in 2000 m Höhe (Honegger). Die Raupe — Sp. IV, Nachtr. T VI — lebt von April bis Juni an Aira caespitosa, Bromus arvensis und andern Gräsern. K. Uffeln fand sie auch auf Papilionaceen z. B. Ginster und Tragant. E. Sp. U, 31 - Gub. Ent. Zeitschr.
